Getting Ideas
Getting ideas with Mavic
A blank page is the hardest part of marketing. Mavic's Ideate workflows are built to fix that. Use them when you don't know what to post next.
The Ideate workflows
Click the workflow icon in the chat composer and scroll to the Ideate category. You'll see:
- Social Media Plan — generates a multi-week plan tailored to your brand goals and audience
- Campaign Concepts — full campaign structure with theme, channels, post mix, and timing
- Single Post Ideation — three angles for a single topic
- Content Calendar — fills in a calendar around holidays and events
Social Media Plan workflow
This is the highest-leverage Ideate workflow. The form asks:
- Channels — pick which social platforms to plan for
- Time horizon — 1 week, 2 weeks, or 4 weeks
- Goal — awareness, engagement, conversion
- Customer profile — who you're speaking to
- Posting frequency — per channel
- Content themes — pick from your Brand DNA themes, or let Mavic propose
Mavic returns a structured plan: a list of post ideas with channel, format, hook, and the date they should post. Each idea is starable so you can keep the ones you like.
Single Post Ideation
Use this when you know the topic but don't know the angle.
"I want to post about our customer support team's recent achievement. Give me 3 angles."
Mavic returns three distinct hooks, each suitable for a different platform or audience.
Saving ideas
When Mavic generates ideas, click the star icon on the ones you like. Starred ideas are saved to your Idea library and can be:
- Pulled into a chat with
@(type@, pick Idea) - Added directly to the Planner on a specific date
- Turned into a full post with one click
See Adding things to your planner.
From idea to published post
The natural flow:
- Run an Ideate workflow → starred ideas
- Drag starred ideas onto specific dates in the Planner
- Click an idea on the Planner → Create content from this
- Mavic opens chat with the idea pre-loaded → generate the actual post
- Refine, schedule, publish
This is how to fill a month of content in an afternoon.
Tips
- Generate more ideas than you need, then cut. Aim for 3x what you'll publish.
- Mix idea sources. Some from Ideate, some from saved holidays, some from your own gut. The variety keeps your feed interesting.
- Re-run the Social Media Plan workflow monthly. Your audience and competitors shift; refresh your plan to match.
- Use Content Themes in Brand DNA. They make Ideate output sharper and more on-brand. See Content Theme.
