Slack Connection
Connecting Slack for notifications
Connect Slack and Mavic will push important updates to your team's Slack channel — no need to log in to check what's happening.
What you'll get in Slack
Once connected, Mavic sends:
- 24-hour performance summaries every morning
- Upcoming-week previews every Monday
- Instant alerts when a social channel disconnects (so you can fix it before posts fail)
- Notifications for every scheduled, published, failed, or cancelled post
You can toggle each notification type on or off.
How to connect
- Click Integrations in the side navigation.
- Click Messaging.
- Find Slack and click Connect Slack.
- Choose the correct workspace (if you're in multiple Slacks, pick the right one).
- Choose the channel to send notifications to. Private channels need to invite the Mavic Slack App explicitly.
- Approve all requested permissions — skip any and the connection will fail.
- Configure which notification types to enable.
- Click Save.
If Slack connection fails
The most common reasons:
1. Permissions weren't fully granted
Disconnect and reconnect, approving every permission this time.
2. Wrong workspace selected
If you're in multiple Slacks, ensure you picked the right one.
3. Private channel didn't invite the Mavic app
Open the channel in Slack → /invite @Mavic (or use the channel settings to add the app).
4. Notifications not toggled on
Even if Slack is connected, you won't see updates until you turn on specific notification types in Integrations → Messaging → [your Slack connection].
5. App removed from workspace
If your Slack admin removed the app, reconnect from Integrations → Messaging.
6. Limited workspace permissions
In some organizations, only Slack admins can install apps. Ask your Slack admin to approve or install the Mavic Slack App.
Disconnecting Slack
Integrations → Messaging → [your Slack connection] → Disconnect.
Tips
- Pick a dedicated channel. A
#mavic-updateschannel keeps notifications out of busy work channels. - Toggle off "every published post" if you publish often — daily summaries are usually enough.
- Pin the daily summary so the team can scan it first thing in the morning.
