# Adding to Calendar

# Adding things to your calendar

The Calendar accepts five kinds of items: posts, drafts, ideas, holidays, and notes. Here's how to add each one.

## Adding a social media post

You have three entry points:

### From the Calendar directly

1. Click an empty date.
2. Click the **`+`** icon.
3. Pick **New Post**.
4. Mavic opens the post creator pre-filled with that date.
5. Build the post and save → it's now scheduled for that date.

### From a finished post in chat

After Mavic generates a post you like:

1. Click **Add to Calendar**.
2. Pick the date and time.
3. Confirm.

The post is scheduled. You can drag it to reschedule any time.

### From a draft

If a post is sitting in your drafts:

1. Open the **Library → All Assets**, filter by **Draft**.
2. Open the draft.
3. Click **Schedule** → pick date and time.

## Adding a starred idea

When Mavic generates ideas (from the Ideate workflow, content suggestions, or anywhere else), each idea has a **star icon**.

1. Star the ideas you want to keep.
2. They land in your **Idea library**.
3. From the Calendar, drag a starred idea onto a date.

The idea now lives on that date as a placeholder. When you're ready, click it and choose **Create content from this** — Mavic opens chat with the idea pre-loaded.

## Adding a public holiday or social holiday

Public and social holidays are surfaced in the Planner's right panel.

* **Public holidays** are country-specific; set your country in **Brand DNA → Brand Overview** if it's not picking up the right ones.
* **Social holidays** are quirky days (e.g. National Coffee Day) Mavic surfaces because they're often great content hooks.

To use one:

1. Drag the holiday from the right panel onto a date (usually the same day, but you can plan a teaser earlier).
2. Click the holiday on the planner.
3. Pick **Create content from this**.

Mavic opens a workflow with the holiday pre-loaded — it'll factor in your brand and audience to suggest an angle.

## Adding a free-text note

For internal reminders that aren't posts:

1. Click an empty date → **`+`** → **Add note**.
2. Type the note.
3. Save.

Notes are visible only to your team — they don't publish anywhere.

## Re-arranging items

Everything on the planner is drag-and-drop. To reschedule a post, an idea, or a note:

1. Click and hold the item.
2. Drag it to a new date.
3. Release.

You can also click any item and update the date/time in its details.

## Cancelling a scheduled post

Click the post on the planner and choose **Cancel**. The post moves back to drafts so you can re-edit and re-schedule later.

## Tips

* **Star more ideas than you'll publish.** It's easier to drag-and-cull than to ideate every week.
* **Block out heavy weeks ahead of time.** Holidays, launches, conferences — get the anchors in first.
* **Use notes for context.** A note like *"Prep for Black Friday — assets due Nov 14"* helps your team stay aligned.
* **Sync past posts** so the planner reflects your full history, not just what you scheduled inside Mavic.
